Myvillages at Work

Myvillages (until 2013 myvillages.org) is an international artist initiative founded by Kathrin Böhm (D/UK), Wapke Feenstra (NL) and Antje Schiffers (D) in 2003. The collective aims of Myvillages are given by the contextual nature of their individual practices and the autobiographical fact that they all grew up in small villages. Now they live in London, Rotterdam and Berlin. The participatory art practice - which they share in common - presents an utopian approach to community building. Böhm/Feenstra/ Schiffers frame the rural as a place of cultural production bringing it into the discussion of contemporary arts. The compilation of photos, presented in the article, shows the work of myvillages.org during the last years.
